Being The True You

I myself am a person all too familiar with the common struggle of accepting myself for who I am over the idealistic traits of society. However you cannot truly be happy or content with yourself before you learn to love yourself for who you are, accept your flaws and admit that you are beautiful.

We are all put on this earth to be different both in our looks and personalities, what a boring world it would be if we all acted and looked the same? As hard as it is being unique is what makes each individual beautiful. It may sometimes feel easier to follow the crowd, to become engrossed within societies grasp, but truth be told you will never truly be happy and the reins of society will hold you back.

Only will you be happy when you step out of this circle surrounding you and allow yourself to be free. Being true to yourself by accepting your flaws and experimenting to find the you you're content with.

If you stay within that circle of same and don't allow yourself to flourish, then what chance do people have of loving or knowing the true you? Only a front you put up to disguise the person within.

Bourjois Colour Band Cream Shadow | Review

A recent pick up of mine is these Bourjois Colour Band Cream Eyeshadows in 'Rose Fauviste' and 'Grid Graffiti'. These shadows are a gorgeous 2 in one liner and cream shadow.

These eyeshadow sticks are lovely shades and once applied on the lid, blend beautifully. They can be used as a base to start an eye look or can be used on its own to create a simple look. Because these are in stick form they can be easily applied, with one sweep your out the door.

The beauty of this new range from Bourjois is the capability of these products as they are a 2 in one product. I do personally prefer them as a cream shadow, however the darker shades such as 'Grid Graffiti1 works amazing close to your upper lash line to add definition. The lasting power of this product is unbelievable. I swatched it on my hand in Boots and could not for the life of me get it off! So it's not going anywhere on your lids, even if you suffer from oily eye lids.

The only downside to these products I find to be the shade range. All the shades they brought out are quite limited and remain shimmery. I hope more shades are released at a later date.

Ripped Denim Grunge

Top // Zara
Jeans // Topshop (similar)
Belt // Vintage (my dad)
Shoes // Primark
Watch // Daniel Wellington*
Rings // Pandora
Hat // Topshop

The outfit posts are returning, and I do hope they are here to stay. I have really missed blogging my outfits and thanks to the break in the torrential British weather, they have returned. This outfit is based around the transition in seasons into Spring, and although the British weather is currently in turmoil it doesn't quite know what t do with itself. If you needed an extra layer with an outfit like this then throwing on a light jacket and rocks that denim on denim look, or throw on a oversized check shirt to tie around your waist.

Makeup Bag Edit

Seen as it is the Easter holidays for myself and many of you reading this post I thought it seemed fitting to do a makeup bag edit to give you an insight to what I carry with me when I go on longer trips.

Brushes

I try to leave brushes to a bare minimum as they tend to take up a lot of space that could be used for other makeup. I only take eye brushes and a powder brush as I feel I can get away with doing my face makeup with my hands, but I wouldn't like to attempt eye shadow this way! the majority of my brushes are from real techniques or eco tools.

Face

I am never really a girl for face products and don't actually own a foundation, I purely stick to bb/cc creams and if not that just concealer. A product I have been loving recently has been the Bourjois CC Cream, it gives a beautiful finish to your skin. Of course my concealer is my trusty Maybelline Fit Me and my powder the Rimmel Stay Matte.

Eyes

I tend to keep eye looks simple when I'm away unless I know I'm going somewhere special. I stick to the basics. I bring along my beloved Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Liner and my tiny Benefit Rollerlash Mascara. For eye shadow I only usually bring one or two products, this time I chose to bring my Mac Paint Pot in 'Bare Study' to use on its own or as a base and my Mac eye shadow in 'Sable', these paired together can create a gorgeous look as well as being just as good on their own uses. For my eyebrows I continuously use the same products, the natural collection eye shadow duo in 'Mocha/Latte' and the Collection Clear Mascara, both are cheap and good quality.

Lips

I always like to have options when it comes to my lip shade, you never know what the day will bring. I chose to bring my Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in 'Nudist', Mac Lipstick in 'Crème Cup' and 'Twig'. Although I am sure there are still many other products lying around in my bag waiting for me to take.

Nails

I more overlooked products to take away on trips with you is nail polish. There is nothing worse when you have chipped nails, so by taking the colour you're wearing with you along with another option you can top it off along with being able to switch it up to match your outfit.

I hope you enjoyed this little in sight into my makeup bag and some of my favourite products that fail to leave my side.
