What Does a New Year Mean?

Each new year is the same, a list of resolutions that we only manage to stick to for best part of a week. A new year may represent a new start but that all depends on what you make of it. Make 2015 your year. A way you can make 2015 a year to remember by doing what you want and by saying yes more.

Happy New Year

New Years Makeup

As the New Year is around the corner I thought I would show you a New Years makeup look that would be perfect for those New Years Eve parties.

Makeup Used
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
Natural Collection Eye Shadow 'Mocha/Latte'
Mac Cool Neutrals Palette
Mac Eye Shadow 'Honey Lust'
Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Liner
Volume Million Lashes Mascara
Eos Lipbalm or Revlon 'Black Cherry'

I used the Mac 'Cool Neutrals' Palette to create this makeup look. I started by using Mac 'Honey Lust' eye shadow as a base and then took the brown shimmery shade from the Cool Neutrals palette and applied that lightly into my crease. I then deepened that with the matte dark brown. To intensify the outer corner I used this black shimmery shade and then the silver shade to brighten my inner corner. Blending is key when creating a smokey eye look to give a gradient effect. For the lip colour I have two options depending on whether you are feeling brave. I firstly kept the lips simple by just using an Eos Lipbalm so the focus is on the eyes. If you're feeling a little more bold you can switch it up to the Revlon 'Black Cherry'.

This look is a statement look that is perfect for the party season.

What I Got For Christmas 2014

I hope you had a merry Christmas and had a lovely time with your family and friends. As the holiday period is almost over, I though I would show you some of the gifts I received for Christmas. I had an amazing Christmas and spent it with my family. I also spent it eating my body weight in food (the usual)

I had been eyeing up this Michael Kors watch for pretty much the whole year so I was thrilled when I opened this on Christmas day off my mum and dad. It's a rose gold addition which is my favourite kind and I can assure you it will not be leaving my wrist. A present which was more of a surprise was this gorgeous Michael Kors purse. I had mentioned it once or twice to my mum although I thought nothing else of it until Christmas. It's a beautiful nude, stone shade that is the perfect size and also is made to be able to fit your phone so it can double as a clutch.

The Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions range has become a favourite of mine and my mum obviously knows that. She got my this little set of the three steps to the range. It includes a facial wash, toner and all over treatment. I have already tried all of them and I love them all.

For the past few years I have got a new pair of shoes for Christmas and it's become a sort of tradition. This year I got these beautiful Vans which are in this gorgeous Liberty London fabric. I love how different they are and I adore the paisley themed pattern.

A book that was on my 'to read' list this year was 'Girl Online' by Zoe Sugg solely because I was intrigued by it. All I can say about this book is that I got it Christmas day, finished it Boxing day and it was amazing.

Another tradition of Christmas is of course to get new socks. This year I received these lovely burgundy ones with silver stars from Jack Wills and let's be honest here, you can never have too many socks.

Christmas is the time for gift sets and this year I received some lovely ones. I got a few Jack Wills ones containing a range of products. Also I got a gift set of one of my favourite fragrances 'Ghost Eclipse'. It contains the perfume along with the body lotion. If you have never smelt this perfume before I highly recommend you do.

What did you receive this year for Christmas?

This post also marks 1 year of me blogging, which is crazy to think! Thank you all for continuing to read my blog and supporting me throughout.

Have a Merry Little Christmas

Let's be honest when it comes to Christmas we all become excited little children again, and I'm not ashamed of it. With Christmas Day just hours from us I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and I hope you all have an amazing day. Waking up early morning and opening up the presents we have received and spending the rest of the day with your family after stuffing yourself filled with a good old roast dinner. Christmas really is my favourite time of year and yes I am one of those people who count down the hours.

I hope you all have a merry day and enjoy the holiday spirit.

The Bag Edit

Bag

I had been lusting over this bag ever since I saw it in stores, so when I was in Brighton I finally decided to pick it up. It is a gorgeous mulberry shade. It is perfect for the Autumn and Winter bag, although you may find me wearing it all year round. It has plenty of space inside, which makes it so easy to carry around. There are two large side compartments along with a main section, there is plenty of room for the unnecessary junk I carry around with me. This bag comes with a shoulder strap and short handles therefore it's perfect if you're that type of girl who gets lazy with carrying your handbag on you arm and end up chucking it on your shoulder.

This bag is my new go to staple, you could say I have a new love.

Those Winter Musts

There are certain things which I cannot do without in the Winter months. From fashion to beauty to those little necessities.

Layering
I think I have said this a many a time on this blog. I love to layer. To me layering is the best concept about fashion. I have recently been loving to layer with this cape I recently got from Marks & Spencers.

Candles
This is a typical girl thing for the Winter time: Candles. Burning candles in the cold nights create a cosy, homely atmosphere to any room.

Dark Lips
I never used to be one for dark lips, as I never thought I could pull them off. I have recently been wearing one particular shade by Revlon in 'Black Cherry'. Even though I am not certain whether it suits me I wear it anyway. It's a perfect way to add a pop of colour into your everyday makeup routine.

Winter Boots
Boots are a thing I would wear all year round if I could. I love how they look paired with an outfit and the variety you can get. I have been living in boots ever since the Summer was over.

Those are just some of my musts for the Winter time. Anything cosy and warm is a favourite of mine to snuggle up with.

Winter Trends

Winter is my favourite season for fashion trends. I love the darker shades and the layering.

1. Floppy Hats
I have seen floppy hats making an appearance on catwalks since the Summer. For the Winter they are back with darker shades such as black and burgundy.

2. Capes
Capes are a must layering piece this season. They come in a variety of shades and patterns and are perfect for the cooler months.

3. Double Breasted Coats
These coats have been seen everywhere on the catwalks in any shape and colour. The most on trend colour this season seems to be the tan shade. These coats are again a great layering piece and also look amazing on.

4. Big Tartan Scarf
One thing you can't do Winter without is a scarf. This season it's the bigger the better with the tartan scarfs. They have been spotted on many celebrities and all over fashion magazines. They are a simple staple during the Winter season.
