New On The Market - Revlon Colourburst Balms

Hello everyone and I'm starting a new series on this blog called new on the market, in this series I will post about new products that have just recently hit the shelves. Today I am going to be talking about the latest release that has had the blogging industry going crazy, that is the new 'Revlon Colourburst Lacquer and Matte Balms'.

As soon as I heard these were being released I was on a constant check in with Boots to see when they would emerge into my nearest store. When I finally found them I decided not to go overboard and pick out all the shades which I would probably never end up wearing, instead I chose one Matte and one Lacquer balm in the colours I know I would end up wearing often. Each they cost £7.99, however they are currently on offer for 3 for 2 in Boots which is across all Revlon Products.

Top - Lacquer Balm in 'Demure', Bottom - Matte Balm in ' Elusive'

I picked up the Matte Balm in the Shade 205 Elusive, which is a traditional blue toned pink shade. The finish of these balms are velvety soft and are not drying at all, which is what some matte lip products can do. This particular shade is very universal and would suit pretty much anyone. The matte balms have crazy pigmentation and will stay put all day, with out reapplication. It is also a build able product and you are able to create a very bold lip or keep it subtle, which is personally what I like to do.

Bottom - Matte Balm in 'Elusive, Top - Lacquer Balm in 'Demure'

I picked up the Lacquer Balm in the shade 105 Demure, which is more of a nude pink with shimmer. These balms compared to the Matte Balms are a lot more sheer but also build able. The finish of these balms are glossy and have a high finish to them. I find the Lacquer balms are more creamy and really glide onto the lips and make your lips appear plumper. As to be expected the Lacquer Balms have less pigmentation and therefore less lasting power, which to me is not a set back as I like the overall glossy finish and for that I don't mind reapplying it through out the day. This particular shade of lip product goes really well with a neutral eye look and also a universal shade for everyone.

These drugstore lip products, are high quality and I would recommend them to anyone. I would expect something of this quality to be high end. Overall I personally prefer the Lacquer Balms as I feel the colour is much more wearable for day to day use, however over the finish the Matte Balm wins it due to their long lasting power and the velvety application onto your lips. I will definitely be picking up more shades in this lip product. Leave your comments below with your favourite shade of the Revlon ColourBurst Balms? Thank you for reading and be sure to check back when I next post.

A 'Little' Haul

Hello everyone, I did a bit of shopping when I went to Liverpool this weekend and I thought I would show you what I picked up. All the prices will be listed in the captions of the pictures.

Silver Strand Beach - £2.99 (on clearance), Cresent Bay - £12
The Cookie Exchange Set - £11 (on clearance)

Sweet Creamy Frosting Lotion, Christmas Cookie Body Wash, Sugar Sprinkles Gloss
I went to Liverpool with three of my best friends, we went on the train and our first stop was Liverpool One. In Liverpool One I bought things from Debanams, Hollister and Office. From Debanams, seen as the sales were still on I thought I would pick up this set from Philosophy, called The Cookie Exchange it comes with the Christmas cookie body wash, the sweet creamy frosting body lotion and the sugar sprinkles lip gloss, and the, they all smell amazing and even though it's meant for Christmas I will still use it. From Hollister I still had a voucher, can I first say though the bags are gorgeous! I picked up a body spray in 'Cresent Bay' and a body lotion which was in the sale in 'Silver Strand Beach'. On to the boring stuff from Office I picked up some new school shoes, they're nothing special, just some plain black shoes.

No 7 Exquisite Curl Mascara in 'Black' - £5 (on clearance)
Revlon Lipgloss in 'Belini' - £4 (on clearance)

Topshop Striped Top - £20
Lush Goods - £18.50

Next we ventured outside of Liverpool One into the center of Liverpool. I bought things from Boots, Lush and Topshop. I couldn't not pop into Boots, but I can never go in there and not come out with something. The first thing I bought was this Revlon Lipstick in 'Beleni' which I blame Velvetgh0st for making me get. It was in the sale as well for some reason for only £4, when I have seen it full price else where. I also got the No 7 mascara, which was also on clearance and I couldn't pass it up considering that No 7 mascaras are usually £12+, on clearance it was only £5. Finally I just picked up the Boots magazine, which is free with your points card. From Lush I got The Comforter bubble bar; the Melting Marshmallow Moment; Rockstar soap; The Avobath bath bomb and the Fizzbanger bath bomb. All of which smell absolutely amazing. I am currently obsessed with Lush and just keep buying more! Finally from Topshop I got this red striped top from the Tall section, which Beautycrush has and I fell in love with it and had to pick it up.

That is all I picked up from Liverpool and it may be alot to some or not for others, but I am actually going to London near the end of February to go to the Harry Potter Tour and will be doing some shopping there so keep your eyes peeled for another haul coming soon. Thank you for reading and be sure to follow my bloglovin to keep up to date with when I post.

Mac Lipsticks | First Impressions

Mac Lipstick - 'Creme Cup'

Hello everyone, I recently picked up my first ever Mac lipstick in the shade, yes you guessed it creme cup. Creme cup has been the cult favourite Mac lipstick for as long as I can remember. Today I am going to give you my first impressions.

Before spending a ridiculous £15 on a lipstick I did some research to find out the shade I wanted to purchase. The shade that kept cropping up was creme cup and of course that lead to me buying it, who could resist? Almost all the reviews I read about Mac lipsticks in general had positive feedback and I can see why. I bought creme cup which is a creme sheen finish, so is there for not drying and has a nice mate but glossy finish.

When I first opened the lipstick, the first thing that came to my mind was the smell, it smells amazing! It smells exactly like cupcakes which is in no way a bad thing. The actual colour of creme cup is a pinky nude shade, which I personally love. I've heard that all Mac lipsticks are amazing quality and this is no exception. At first swatch I could see it was highly pigmented, and not overly pink but buildable. When applied onto the lips it has a smooth application and it gilds onto the lips. I applied one layer, however if you wanted a stronger pink tone then you could build it up more. The shade of the lipstick is such a universal shade and would suit so many different skin colours. I have quite pale skin and it didn't make me look dead at all, it's like a my lips but better shade. Because of it being a creme sheen finish it does not dry out your lips at all and I find it to actually be quite moisturizing. The lasting power of the lipstick isn't amazing and doesn't last all day and it does need touch ups throughout the day however it does last a good while compared to others I have tried. Overall, after trying out my first ever Mac lipsticks I know I will be picking more up soon, they are definitely worth the price and are such better quality than some drugstore lip products.

Review - Soap & Glory Skincare

Hello everyone, today i'm going to review soap and glory's new skincare line. I have recently seen the new skincare range in Boots and decided to pick then up and share my opinions on them with you guys.

The first product I picked up was the Dr Spot breakout clearing gel. It says it is clog clearing and fights spots immediately after application. I have to say I 100% agree with this. It might not immediately clear up my breakouts as the packaging says, but since using it I have really noticed a great difference in my skin and I have only been using it a week! Any product that you notice a difference within a week is worth it. I picked this up because I was having quite bad breakouts and bought this praying it would work. I'm so glad I bought this and it has cleared up my skin considerably. It contains salicylic acid and ginger which helps dry out your spots and clear up any scarring. You apply it directly onto your skin, and you can feel a tingling sensation on your face which tells you that it's working. Although I found that you really need to use a good moisturizer underneath it, as it can dry out your skin because of the salycylic acid.

The next product I picked up was the no clogs allowed self heating detox mask. I picked this up again because I was looking for something to clear up my skin and I was intrigued as it says it is a self heating mask. This paired with the gel are perfect. A self heating mask means that as you rub it onto your skin it heats up. The first time I used it, it felt really weird. However it is also really soothing. It is really great for your skin and unclogs your pores and your skin is left feeling super soft. After five minutes of leaving it on your skin you rinse it off using a flannel or splashing your face with water, and your skin feels so fresh and clear. This also contains salyclic acid which again helps clear up breakouts and soothe them.

Both of these products I highly recommend, and I can now say they have changed my skin. Thank you for reading and let me know if you have any more recommendations for spot prone skin.

Makeup Storage Ideas

Drawers - Homebase, Pen Pot - Wilikinsons, Ring Holder - Forever 21

Hello everyone, today I'm going to share with you my makeup organization tips. Before I got organised with my makeup, it was all over the shot. It is important to stay organized as this way you won't lose any products. I personally feel like I get more use out of products with being able to see all my products rather than them being all in different makeup bags, which was my previous storage. I hope you can all take away some tips on how to store your makeup and become more organized.

Brushes - Real Techniques, Models Own, Topshop and EcoTools

I'll firstly start off with my brush storage, I like to see my brushes out and although people say that they collect dust, I generally prefer this way of storing them. I hold them in this white paisley design pen pot, which is actually from Wilkinsons and was super cheap! It houses all my brushes and they are all easy accessible and within view.

Drawers - Homebase

Moving onto my main/everyday storage, I store all of my most used makeup in this small set of 3 clear drawers I picked up form Homebase, however you can also find exact replicas in Muji. I love these drawers as you can seen exactly what is inside each draw and I like the way it looks. On top of the draws I have my Eos lipbalms simply because they wouldn't fit anywhere else. In the top draw, I have my concealer, powder, Mac eye shadows, my brow powder and blushes. In the second draw down I have my lip products. In the final draw I have all my eye products such as; eyeliners, mascaras, cream shadows and jumbo eye pencils. I think it is useful to split your makeup up into sections, as this way you are able to find your products a lot easier.

Wiker Baskets - Dunelm Mill

Finally moving onto the rest of my makeup. I store it in these wicker baskets I picked up from Dunelm Mill, I think these baskets are great as they look cute and are great for organizing. I also hold my hair care and skincare in two larger ones. In the first basket I have all the products that wouldn't fit in the clear drawers, such as; newly bought products, BB creams, foundations, eye shadow palettes, lipsticks, lip glosses, bronzers, highlights etc. In the other I store my other tools and nail tools and polishes.

Those are my tips on storing your makeup, whether you have more or less than me I hope you find this useful. As you can probably see though I am quickly running out of room and I am looking for more storage ideas, if you have any suggestions I would love to hear it in the comments.

Review - Baby Skin Primer

Hello everyone, today I'm am going to being doing a review on the Baby Skin by Maybelline New York.

I was a sucker for the launch of the Baby Lips and went a little crazy over them. When I heard they were going to be launching the Baby Skin primer in the UK I knew I had to pick it up, as I loved the Baby Lips I had high expectations for this. I picked mine up from Boots for £7.99, which is a little pricey for a primer in my opinion but it was worth it. The packaging reminds me immediately of the Baby Lips, what's not to like?

At first test, I thought that the primer might break me out as it has a silicone like texture to it which can block your pores, which I really don't need right now! However I couldn't be more wrong, it's lightweight and glides onto your skin and erase's any sigh of large pores and makes your skin feel super soft; I have visible pores around my nose area and after applying this they were near enough gone. I did not break me out and I did notice a massive difference on the length of time my makeup lasted, it didn't melt off my face and lasted from when I put it on in the morning to when I took it off at night. It creates a nice even base for foundation or concealer to stick to and stay onto.

I sometimes even wear the primer on its own, as it gives such a flawless and matte finish to your skin, I rarely need to apply powder. The Baby Skin was the first primer I bought and I will surely buy more. I highly recommend the Baby Skin primer whether you are beginning to use primer or you use them all the time, either way it is a great drugstore primer.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you all enjoyed this post and look out for my next one.

January Q&A

Hello everyone, on Instagram I asked you to ask me some questions and today I'll be answering them.

Favourite instagrammers?
I have so many but a few of my favourites are idklivv, floralmia, hiyaimlauren, fetching_tigerss and dijesstive. Basically everyone I follow, you know who you are!

Favourite lush product?
I love all lush products, but my favourite is probably the so white bath bomb, its a very fresh scent. But,they don't sell it anymore, only at Christmas. If I were to chose something else it would be the melting marshmallow moment, which honestly smells like heaven and bubble-gum.

If you could only wear one item of makeup, what would it be?
It would be concealer, as I have quite bad dark circles and would like to cover them up along with my spots.

How did you have so many followers?
I honestly don't know, I just post often and mostly if you post with a theme seems to work? However everyone's got to start somewhere, and I don't believe Instagram being all about followers. It doesn't matter how many followers you have.

What do you use to edit your photos?
I use VSCO cam and Phonto to brighten and watermark my photos.

Where are your favourite places to shop?
I shop ALOT, my favourites are definitely Boots, Topshop, Urban Outfitters, Mac, Superdrug, Selfridges. I've probably covered everything you could want to buy though!

What is your favourite makeup brand?
My favourite drugstore makeup brand is Maybelline. I love all of their mascaras that I have tried and I love the Maybelline fit me concealer; its something I can't go without. Not forgetting their baby lips which I know most of you love; I own six, which I guess is kind of a problem. As for high-end makeup brands, my favourite is either Mac or Benefit, I own two mac eye shadows, both of which are highly pigmented and I would like to get more. However I don't own a lot of high-end products, because they are rather expensive.

What is your favourite scent?
One Direction's Our Moment, because... it's One Direction, it also smells heavenly; its a mixture of fresh and sweet. I also love Marc Jacobs Honey perfume, which has quite a sweet scent but nothing too overpowering.

Favourite memory of 2013?
Definitely going to New York with my family, it was amazingly unreal! It was something I had wanted to do for so long and I am so grateful that I was able to go.

Who are you idols?
Demi Lovato, she is such an inspirational women because of what she has been through and has overcome also because of what she is doing to help the girls of today who are struggling.

They are all the questions I am going to be answering today I hope you enjoyed it and comment below any future questions and I will be sure to answer them in my next Q&A.

2013 Favourites

Hello everyone, another year has pasted and its scary how quick its gone! But today I'm going to be showing you my favourites of 2013. 2013 has been the year where I discovered so many new products that I now love and have repurchased numerous times.

The first products I want to talk about are beauty products. I have discovered so many new brands and products this year, but one of my must-haves has definitely been my rocket volume express mascara. It gives your lashes a great amount of volume and also lengthens them really well and does not clump up. I also layer it up with my Benefit They're Real mascara which is another favourite. This mascara really thickens up your lashes and although the bristles are quite spiky, it's a great mascara and paired with the Rocket they go hand in hand together. For eyes I have been wearing cream eye shadows on my lids, the three I own are two of the Maybelline colour tattoos in on and on bronze and barely branded, also the smash box cream shadow in riches. All of which are highly pigmented and creamy and all glide on the lids, that give a nice base for eye shadow or to wear on its own.  The nyx jumbo eye pencils are cream shadows in a stick form, the shades I have are milk and black bean and I wear them almost everyday and they are super easy to apply. My last beauty favourite of 2013 are eos lip balms, I picked them up whilst in the States, they are really moisturizing and packaging is so cute, I have four flavours; blueberry acai, summer fruits, strawberry sorbet and mint.

Next want to share with you my fashion favourites. I love to experiment with different styles and this winter I have been loving the tartan trend, I own a red tartan scarf I picked up at Primark for £4 and I have been wearing it whenever I have the chance. My next favourite are my white converse, I've had them a few years now and still wear them non stop, they are so easy to style and go with everything. Skater skirts have been a big trend this year and I have picked up three over the year and love them all, the colours I have are black, maroon and a floral one. I also love every winter oversized jumpers and sweaters, I have way too many for my own good from numerous places, but my favourite has to be my Harvard sweater I picked up from Lily Vintage, which features in my OOTD #1 if you would like to check that out.

Now onto the random favourites! My all time favourite book is The Fault in our Stars by John Green, it is honestly the best book I've ever read. It is such a sad yet happy book, and I know many people love it too. My final favourite is my iPhone 5, which I got for my birthday this year. I'm on it non-stop, it's an addiction! I'm always on YouTube or Instagram on it, which is kind of a problem and I guess they could be favourites too!. So that is all my favourites of 2013, 2013 was an amazing for me; I started my Instagram and blog and met some amazing people through it. I hope your 2013 was as good and wish you all to have an amazing 2014!!
