What To Take Abroad | Makeup

As you are reading this I will most probably be jetting off into the air.  As some of you may or may not be aware I am going away for a week, which unfortunately means no posting this coming week (boooo!), however it does mean that my next few posts will be holiday based when I get back so keep your eyes peeled for that (yaay!).

I know that now is the time most of us are packing our bags and heading abroad and today I am going to be telling you the do's and don'ts for packing your makeup bag.

1. Think Minimalist

When your in a hot country the last thing you want to be doing is slapping on layers upon layers of makeup, keep it simple. Light, natural looking makeup always looks better than makeup melting off your face. I tend not to wear any face makeup, but if needs be use a concealer to conceal any blemishes or dark circles, and if you need extra coverage try using a BB cream over foundation as this is lighter on your skin. Fill in your eyebrows lightly to frame your face, add some mascara and your favourite nude lip and your good to go.

2. Take Things You Know You Like

When your on holiday in a rush to get ready you don't want to use a product that you actually find out you don't like, otherwise it ends up with you without a mascara. Instead take your old favourites that you know you love and that sit well on your skin, this way you won't have to stress out about your concealer making you break out in a zillion spots.

3. Waterproof Everything

Have any of you had that unfortunate event where you come to jump in the pool, forget you have mascara on, and then end up looking like a panda? not just me then. A way to avoid this is to use waterproof everything! Mascara, lipstick, eyeliner, anything you can get your hands on. Using waterproof makeup will also help in the heat, as it will help your makeup last through the humidity and sweat.

4. SPF

One of the utmost important thing to do whilst your away is to apply a high SPF to protect your skin. It may be pain but it will reduce premature ageing, prevent you getting burnt and reduce the risk of skin cancer, all of which are bonus' right? if your like me and burn like a tomato you'll know how important it is to wear sunscreen. Don't just wear it on your body and face though, be sure to carry with you a SPF lip balm that will protect your lips from the sun too, you lips are prone to get burnt also.

5 .Pack Light

When your trying not to over pack, you don't want to be taking your over-sized bronzer or powder. Instead take compact items that will take up less space, that way you'll also be able to fit more clothes in your suitcase (hint hint).

Those are all my tips and tricks to packing your makeup bag. When I get back there will be lots more holiday based posts including a look book (ooo...). I hope you all have a fabulous week and I will talk to you when I'm back.

Summer Essentials | Fashion

I'm back today with another Summer favourites my fashion addition. In the Winter time I live in black clothing but as soon as Summer comes around I seem to switch to the other end of the colour wheel with white clothing.

My clothing items I love to wear in the Summer time first off are dresses, to me they are an essential as you can just throw them on without thinking. In particular this white one from Topshop which I featured in an outfit post here. I love this dress because it has a textured look, it has dainty embroidered thread though it which give it a boho theme to it. Because it's light it is perfect Summer dress that will be light and keep you cool.

Next the item I enjoy to wear flowy loose cami tops. I own a few of them from various places the one I have pictured is from Forever 21 which has the lace detailing at the bottom. I love how they are so simple and can be paired with pretty much anything.

An accessory that is seen everywhere in the Summer months is flower crowns. You see them all over the catwalk and they become a real fashion staple during these warmer months. The small collection I have collected are from; Georgialouhandmade and Primark.

In the Summer I always love to stack my bracelets. I have way too many to count. A couple of my favourites however are from Pandora, Handmade bracelets. I also wear a lot of anklets in the Summer as think they add extra detail to an outfit.

Something I have been seeing everywhere recently is headscarves, they have hit the catwalk with a modern twist on the vintage classic. I like to pick mine up from vintage stores, because they have a more traditional look and can be worn so many different ways.

My final fashion favourite is a Summer classic that no one must go without: sandals. There are no ends to the variety of sandals you can get. However my personal favourite is the traditional gladiator in a brown tone. I prefer these as they don't look chunky at all and will go well with any of your Summer outfits.

Those are all of my Summer essentials fashion and beauty wise, to read my beauty essentials click here. I hope you all have an amazing Summer and be sure to keep up to date for more upcoming Summer related posts. Thank you for reading.

Summer Essentials | Beauty

The Summer holidays is growing nearer and it's time to whip out all the Summer essentials.

Face SPF

Although all sunscreen is important, I think it is especially important to protect your face from the sun. It will decrease your risk of skin cancer and of course prevent you burning. Because I have fair, freckly skin I tend to burn pretty easily so I always apply a face SPF before my makeup. The one I use is from the Moisture Match Line by Garnier in 'Normal Skin'

Gradual Tan

Do you want that Summer glow but stay inside watching Netflix all day? Then gradual tanner will be your bestfriend. It gives a really natural look which looks like you've spent the entire day by the pool. Being fair skinned I find it hard to get a tan at all, so I reach for the Garnier Summer Body Gradual Tanning Lotion in the shade 'light/medium' Overtime it will build up into a sun-kissed natural tan.

Sea Salt Spray

You'll notice alot of people by the beach with perfectly wavy beachy hair. There's a way to fake it using a sea salt spray. Just sprizz a bit in your hair, give it a scrunch and you'll be left with toussled, beachy waves. The one I use is the Schwarzkopf Beach Matt Spray.

White Nail Polish

White polish on your finger nails gives a really clean elegant look to your nails. On a plus side it will go with any outfit! I use this white shade from Barry M.

Bright Coral Polish

However for your toe nails a neon coral colour will look great poking out of your sandles. The one I am loving right now is the Essie polish in the shade 'Russian Roulette'. This particular shade would look amazing with a tan.

Champagne Cream Eye Shadow

In the Summer you don't want to be spending time doing complicated eye shadow looks, so instead go for a simple champagne shade all over the lid. It will brighten up your eyes making them appear bigger, also for long lasting power go for a cream shadow that will last if you go in the pool ect. My recommendation is the Mac Cream Shadow in 'Bare Study'.

SPF Lipbalm

As much as protecting your face it is as equally important to protect your lips, as trust me it's painful when they burn. Nobody likes the look of burnt peeling lips.

Those are all my Summer essentials, be sure to let me know what yours are. I hope you enjoyed this post and that your all excited for Summer as I am. Thank you for reading.

Pamper Night Essentials and Tips

Hello everyone. It's important to take a step back and relax once in a while and take a bit of time out and pamper yourself. Today's post is going to be my pamper night essentials and what I like to do on a pamper evening. I particularly do this once a week usually the weekend before I start school again for the week.

Having a Bubble Bath:
I recommend having a hot bubble bath as it really helps to calm you. Did you know you come up with the best idea's in the bath too? In the bath I like to use a bath bomb or some other product from Lush. Recently I have been loving The Comforter, which is a bubble bar you run under the tap and creates bubbles, it smells amazing!

Using a Deep Treatment:
My hair can start to get really dry toward the end of the week especially in the cold weather. Which is why once a week I tend to use a deep treatment/conditioner in my hair to really help seal in the moisture. Recently I have been using the L'oreal Ever Riche Deep Conditioning Mask, which really moisturizes your hair and leaves it feeling silky soft. I tend to leave the mask in for 5-10 minutes at the ends of my hair to make sure it really soaks in, and then rinse it out.

Using a Face Mask:
Likewise for my hair my face tends to become dehydrated by the end of the week, so I like to uplift it with a face mask. Recently I have been loving the Soap and Glory No Clogs Allowed face mask which I have reviewed here. Face masks declog all of your pores and gives you a clear base to work with.

Painting your Nails:
I love to paint my nails, however as I'm not allowed to wear nail polish for school I tend to apply it on a Friday and keep it on for the weekend. I firstly apply a base coat, the one I use is from Revlon. I then apply the colour I want for that weekend, recently I have been getting into pastel shades ready for spring. I apply two coats of that and then apply the Rimmel London clear top coat. I then moisturize my hands and cuticles, and your done!

Light Candles:
One of the easiest ways to feel relaxed is to light candles, I have numerous ones around my room. I am currently trying to use up all of my Christmas scents and the three I am currently burning are Christmas Cookie, Snowflake Cookie and Spiced Orange all by Yankee Candle.

Relax:
Finally, to relax my essentials are definitely music and a good magazine or book, or even show to watch. Recently I have been loving Pretty Little Liars and watch it whenever I have free time. I also love listening to music whilst writing a new blog post. I will also browse through my subscription box on YouTube and see if there is anything there for me to watch. My favorite books I have been reading recently are IT by Alexa Chung and The Fall by Claire Merle, both are amazing books.

Those are my pamper night essentials and top tips, I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what you like to do on your pamper nights.
