Autumn Favourites

If I'm totally honest I'm not Summer's biggest fan. Call me crazy but I would much rather have cool days where you can layer up, compared to hot sticky days where all you can wear is shorts and a t-shirt. That's why I soon as September rolls around, I'm all about Autumn whether it be fashion, beauty or just cozying up. In today's post I though I would share with you my autumn favourites.

Darker Makeup

In Summer you can't really stand to wear a whole lot of makeup on your face, which can be a good thing. But when the weather starts getting cooler you can really start experimenting with your makeup again. Whether you wear darker lips, which I have recently discovered, experiment with different eye looks or just put on your trusty eyeliner. Either way the darker bolder makeup has to be a top favourite for me.

Darker Nails

Going along with the darker trend, I also love to wear deeper nail colours during autumn that fit the seasons colours, which tends to be navy's and burgundy's. Recently I have been noticing there are alot of khaki colours out there which I am still yet to try out.

Autumnal Fashion

Now, my all time favourite of Autumn is the fashion. From the colours to the styles, I love them all. I have to admit I am one to wear black and white all year round, but during autumn I can whip out the mustard's, khaki's and burgundy's at last. In the Summer months I feel quite restricted on what I can wear fashion wise and usually stick with the same stuff, but as it gets cooler I find myself being a lot more experimental and getting out those trust worthy Combat Boots and Doc Martens.

Lush Picks

Everyone loves Lush right? Who doesn't like popping in a good lush bath bomb and having a relaxing bubble bath. I purposely made a trip to Lush for the sake of this post, the things I do for blogging... There's a lot of amazing things on offer in Lush so I thought I would share my favourites, that I am sure most of you will love.

Sakura

This is a new addition to my Lush favourites as I only recently discovered that I actually really like it! I'm not usually a one for floral scents, which I can assure you this one is. I'm not amazing at describing scents as you will be able tell from this post but one thing I can tell you is that it turns your bath an amazing colour. So if your a lover of floral scents I would recommend this for you.

Butter Ball

This is a little gem. This is more on my traditional favourite Lush products as it is quite a sweet scent. It's said that this bath bomb helps to relieve stress and help you relax. As it also has little pieces of cocoa butter balls, once the bath bomb has dissolved they melt into your skin leaving it feeling silky soft and moisturized.

Melting Marshmallow Moment

This is a long time favourite for me. Again it's a sweet one, and I can tell you as the name suggests it smells almost exactly like marshmallows. It's targeted for irritated skin and helps to treat it. Rather than being a bath bomb, it melts into your bath leaving it soft and almost milky, which is why it leaves your skin feeling amazing.

The Comforter

This is one cult Lush product that I love. The only way I can describe this scent is if you go and smell a bottle of Ribena, well that's what it smells like and I think that's why I like it so much. This is a bubble bar and the idea is that you break a bit off, run it under the tap and it will create a whole load of bubbles that will fill up you tub and make it smell delicious.

Avobath

This has been a recent obsession of mine that I just keep repurchasing. As you can probably tell from the name it contains avocado and olive oils that really help to nurture dry skin. It has a strong scent of lemon which is my favourite thing about it, as it dissolved the citrus scent will fill your entire bathroom.

After writing this post I advise you to visit Lush and pick up some things and let me know your favourites because if you couldn't tell, I like Lush, maybe a little to much.

Mac Cool Neutrals Palette | Review

All makeup lovers will understand me for buying this palette, however if you aren't then you may think I am plain crazy... I picked up this beauty in the Duty Free on my way to Greece for a slightly expensive £55 (oops) but lets all be honest here I couldn't leave it there?

If you didn't already know I am talking about this pre-built Mac Palette in 'Cool Neutral' I had been eyeing up making my own Mac Palette but that in total would have cost me £150+ which I can't quite justify! When I saw you could buy pre-built ones forl less than half the price, I jumped on it.

There is a variety of shades within this palette from pink tones, taupe's and brown shades but they all remain neutral so are great for everyday wear. This palette also offers a mixture of shimmery and matte shades so the looks you can create are endless! Like all Mac eye shadows they are all highly pigmented including the paler shades. I have not yet had the chance to use all the colours but have swatched them all numerous times and cannot wait to create looks with them all. Because the palette is so versatile, I think it will suit almost every skin tone, the bronze shades will look amazing on darker skin and the pink tones look beautiful on paler skin also!

One thing I will say however is that although the eye shadows are great quality, they are a little chalkier than single Mac eye shadows and they aren't as smooth. I sort of expected this as the price is so much lower, but they still beat most eye shadows I have previously tried.

But this still is a beautiful palette by Mac that I recommend any makeup lover to try out, it may be on the expensive side, but I think you will love it. Currently thought I am staying away from all Mac makeup to save my bank balance.

Braving Bolder Lips

I've never been a person for bold lip colours, I've always been a nude gal. But seen as the Autumnal ans Winter traditions involve darker lips, I thought it may be about time I give it a try.

NV Flamenco*

I know to some people this may not be the boldest lip shade, but it's a great start off point. It is just a step up from a nude shade in the way that it is a bold pink. It is a perfect pink with a hint of peach neon that is great for all year round wear.

Soap&Glory Man Trap

Maybe it was the name that intrigued me to this lipstick, either way it is a beautiful red shade. This is one of your traditional red shades with an orange undertone. I never thought I would be one to suit red lips, but I actually like the way this particular one looks and I think it suits paler complexions well.

Rimmel 107

This is a cult red lip staple for Autumn and Winter. I have always heard people go on about this lipstick but never hopped on the band-wagon. I'm now glad I did as it is my new favourite lipstick. It's a blue toned red and if I'm totally honest I'm not 100% sure this suits me, but I wear it anyway for the sheer fun of it.

Why To Love Autumn

I may be stepping a little early with this post, but I'm too excited for this coming season to contain myself. You guessed it, I like Autumn...a lot

People tend not to show Autumn a lot of love because their usually suffering with post holiday blue's and long for the warm weather to return. But I'm the opposite, as soon as I go back to school I get into Autumn mode, start buying sweaters and wearing the good old boots. The reasons I love Autumn go on and on, but a definite bonus is that it is my birthday in October, so yes I am an Autumn baby which is probably why I like it so much. A close second though is the fashion! I adore the trends that come along with Autumn from the oversized jumpers and blazer coats, to the knee high socks and boots, anything that is comfortable you get away with. All of it I love. One thing that comes along with the fashion is the autumnal colours, the burgundy's, green's, mustard yellow's, black's and grey's all my favourites. I love how interior decor changes throughout all the seasons and when it comes to Autumn all the shades are toned down, the blankets are brought out, the fairy lights are on and everything just feels a lot more homely and cozy. Speaking of homely who here doesn't love cozying up with a blanket and a hot cup of hot chocolate at the end of the day, you can't do that in Summer now can you? (well you could if you really wanted to) I love the misty weather in Autumn, it's not too hot yet still not cold, it's perfect for evening walks out.

The whole atmosphere that comes along with Autumn get me in the seasonal spirit and prepares me for the next holiday that I wait for all year, Christmas. The coziness, the fashion, the weather and the seasonal colours are all reasons to love this time of year.

An Extensive Haul

I'm not going to lie, I think I have a shopping problem, but let's face it there is nothing a bit of retail therapy can't fix, am I right? As you can see although from the pictures I didn't buy awfully colourful items apart from the bright pop of yellow. By the time Autumn and Winter come around I find myself living in simple, grey, black, navy and white pieces all throughout the season. I thought it was about time I refresh my Autumn and Winter wardrobe with a new number of basics and trending pieces. Baring in mind this is a lot but is collected, just feel sorry for my bank balance.

5 Step Skincare | Oily/Combination

In the morning of school you already have to wake up at around 7 every morning. On top of that you don't want to be carrying out a 1000 step skincare routine. I keep my routine to around 5 steps that covers all of the basics I need.

1. Ultrabland Facial Cleanser

I actually use this cleanser from Lush to remove my makeup. It contains beeswax which is one of the best natural ways to remove your makeup, its completely natural so wont irritate your skin. I wet my face rub a small amount onto my face and wash of using a hot cloth.

2. Biore Cleansers

I switch up my cleansers depending on how my skin is. I rotate between the Biore Deep Pore Charcoal and Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleaner, both are targeted for oily/blemish prone skin.

3. Simple Toner

I follow up cleansing with my Simple Kind To Skin Facial Toner. It's a great cheap toner, that I just take around my face on a cotton pad. Toning helps to balance out the PH levels of your skin and close your pores.

4. Yes To Tomatoes Moisturizer

If you skin any step don't let it be this one. Moisturizing is one of the most important steps in your routine, it helps prevent aging and dry cracked skin. I use the Yes To Tomatoes Moisturizer, which is again is for oily/combination skin and I have noticed it prevent blemishes and doesn't leave an oily residue on already already oily skin.

5. Clinique Anti-Blemish Clearing Gel

Now to get those pesky spots that appear out of no where. I dab on some Clinique Anti-Blemish Clearing Solutions Clearing Gel onto my problem areas and it reduces the redness and size of the spot.

Sexy Mother Pucker Glossy Stick | Review

Today we say goodbye to August and along with it the Summer Holidays (cry) Where on earth did that month go? Although Summer is almost over the next seasons have to be my favourites and I'm ready for cozy nights in with oversized sweater and hot chocolates.

It can be hard to find the perfect nude lip that will suit any skin tone, that won't leave you looking dead. After many blog posts and YouTube video's featuring this product, I decided I should pick it up for 'blogging' purposes (I use that excuse way to often) The Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick's by Soap and Glory retail for £8.00, which for a good quality lip product is a good price.

I picked up the shade 'nudist' and although I have way to many nude lip colours to count, I just had to add this to my collection. The best way I can describe the shade to you is that it is more of a berry nude in my eyes, compared to pinks or pale nudes. I love using lip crayons as their application is easy and quick. Like it is claimed the Gloss Stick is beautifully glossy and in no way sticky, so you won't have hair sticking to your lips when it's windy! It is not the most pigmented thing, that is though to be expected as it is a gloss stick. But I like the flexibility that  the pigmentation gives you as you can have a sheer tint or build it up to a bold nude. This particular shade is the perfect 'your lips but better' shade and is the best nude lip I have so far tried. I would expect it to suit all skin tones which just proves how universal it is. Even though it is a gloss stick it seems to stay on my lips for an unexpected amount of time! It almost stains my lips of the colour, so although you loose the glossy finish you're left with a berry nude shade tint.

I don't have any bad things to say about this which just shows how much I love it! This lip crayon and this shade is so easy! you can just swipe it on your lips and not have to worry about it getting onto your teeth or seeping off. A good nude lip will never go out of fashion.
