A Pop Of Colour | An Early Spring Outfit

Top // Topshop
Flannel // Brandy Melville
Jeans // Topshop
Boots // Dorothy Perkins (no longer available)
Rope Bracelet // Pandora
Silver Bracelet // Pandora
Watch // Elsie Grace (similar)

Hello everyone, today's post is another fashion post. As you may have already noticed from my previous fashion posts most of my clothes I wear are 75% black or white. So I thought I would show you an outfit I have been loving with a pop of pastel blue, perfect for the spring. The gorgeous pastel blue top I am wearing is from Topshop, it is made from chiffon and is really flowy. I paired it with a tight fitting jeans and yes they're black (I need to stop) but because the top is so loose fitting around the waist line, I thought that adding something fitted gives a flattering approach. Because in the UK it's not quite 20 degrees yet I through on this Brandy Melville flannel, which has neutral tones and also a hint of blue, so it complements the top well. To give it a more feminine feel I rolled the sleeves up. For shoes I added some brogue style ankle boots. As for jewellery I like to keep it minimalist, I put on my pearl rope Pandora and my silver Pandora with charms. I also put on my vintage voyager watch by the lovely Elsie Grace and a bracelet that I made myself.

This outfit is perfect for early spring days as it still keeps you warm. Its a casual pick and would be great for days out shopping ect. I think all the colours involved in the outfit work well together and compliment each other perfectly.

Growing Out Your Hair & Hair Care Routine

Hello everyone, as so many of you seemed to like my skincare routine I thought I would show you my hair care routine. In the end of year 7 I chopped my hair to just below my shoulders and had short layers put it with a fringe. Admit it everyone has had hair crisis' and this was one of them. At the beginning of year 8 I regretted it, and started to grow it out in December.

That is when I became 'obsessed' with hair care I was on YouTube searching 'how to grow out your hair' for months. I then finally started to notice a difference and now after a year my hair is up to below my rib cage woo!

Before you begin to think about growing your hair out I recommend you get it cut, so that you are growing healthy fresh hair not dead split hair. When growing your hair out you should still get trims otherwise your split ends will continue to split up your hair and you will eventually need to get more and more off.

When it comes to washing your hair you should alternate between different shampoos often to reduce build up in your hair. I personally use a different one every night, but one shampoo I have found that doesn't build up is the Aussi Mega Shampoo, I love all of Aussi's hair care range and this is no exception. I massage that into my scalp to increase the volume and stimulate the hair follicles (tip: increases hair growth). I then condition using again Aussi products, this is the luscious long condtioner, I only apply this onto the ends of my hair to seal in the split ends (tip: if you apply it to the roots it can make your hair greasy). I rinse it all out using warm water.

Next I gently towel dry my hair and apply a leave in conditioner, which helps to keep your hair hydrated it also makes it easier to comb through your hair. To comb through my hair I use a wide toothed comb, that way there is less breakage when you brush your hair (tip: start combing from the bottom upwards, that will reduce breakage also) To prevent frizz I like to use the frizz-ease hair serum. I then leave my hair to dry naturally overnight. I either leave it down, put it in plaits or twist it and clip it in the top of my hair. All of these create wavy hair in the morning.

In the morning I will take my hair down and shake it out. One thing someone will tell you when you are trying to grow your hair out is DON'T USE HEAT, which I did do... mostly (tip: search for heatless hairstyles on YouTube). However in the morning my fringe is quite kinky so I just straighten it, I apply the Tresemme heat protectant and then using my tangle teaser brush it straight and straighten it with my GHD MK5 straighter. I am then good to go. If I am going somewhere special then I will tend to straighten or curl my whole hair. I tend to do all of these steps every other day (tip: if you wash your hair everyday you are stripping your hair of its natural oils, which will make it produce more grease quicker)

That is my hair routine and I hope you find my tips useful, I am not an expert these things just worked for me and helped my hair grow longer and stay healthy.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water | New On The Market

Hello everyone and welcome to another 'new on the market' post. This one is based around a UK dupe for Bioderma and it's the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water that was released earlier this year. You can get this from supermarkets and drugstores such as Boots for an affordable price of £4.99. This product has recently become a major part in my skincare routine and I enjoy using it.

Cleansing waters are supposed to be as gentle as water and able to deep cleanse your skin, remove makeup and even tone. With their multipurpose uses and benefits for the skin they are becoming increasingly popular to use and more and more brands are releasing them.

This cleansing water is one of the first to hit UK stores and I am sure other brands will be soon to follow. I personally myself haven't tried Bioderma, but I have heard many other bloggers saying how this is the UK equivalent and considering Bioderma is so hard to get your hands on I thought I would try it out. I use this to remove my face makeup, it is a really gentle product perfect for all skin types, as its hypoallergenic it's especially good for sensitive skin which is what I have. I take it on a cotton pad and wipe it over my face and it removes any traces of makeup. I enjoy this product as it isn't greasy on your skin like most makeup removers and doesn't leave a residue, it feels like water however it still does good for your skin. This cleansing water, like all the others, has multiple uses, you can use it as a makeup remover, cleanser and toner. This product doesn't irritate my skin and leave it feeling dry, which I found my simple makeup remover wipes did. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. As it is like water it also helps to prevent breakouts, as you are reducing the amount of chemicals on your skin, my skin has overall been left feeling a lot healthier than before, it also doesn't cause my skin to breakout and I felt it to actually soothe active blemishes that I had.

Although I wouldn't say this is a miracle product that works wonders I still really enjoy to use this product and will continue to over time. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed.

This Spring's Monochrome

Tunic // Topshop
Leather Jacket // Newlook (similar)
Bag // Primark
Ring // Pandora
Watch // Elsie Grace (very similar)
Shoes // Office
Necklace // Black Sheep Boutique

Hello everyone and today's post is based on a trend that has been seen all over the shops and catwalks this year:  striped monochrome. The pattern everyone seems to be going crazy for this S&S is stripes especially horizontal. Horizontal stripes make you appear slimmer and vertical make you appear taller. I can't walk into a shop and there not to be some sort of striped garment, but I'm not complaining I have recently been going crazy for it my self. The tunic I'm wearing is a straight down horizontal striped dress from Topshop, and it is a really versatile piece. To keep myself a little warmer, as here in Britain it is still like winter, I wore 80 denier tights. I have also paired the tunic with a leather jacket to add a bit of grunge to the outfit and my white high top converse to keep it under the monochrome/simplistic theme. To keep the outfit neutral toned I added my satchel I picked up from Primark, it was a bargain at just £9, I love it as it adds a vintage vibe to any outfit. I kept jewellery to a minimum however I did wear a simple silver flower ring and paired it with a dainty silver tree necklace from the lovely Black Sheep Boutique, also my gorgeous vintage voyager watch from the lovely Elsie Grace. This outfit is perfect for the transitioning weather into Spring and works well all year round and will never go out of style.

I hope you enjoyed this outfit post and I am really enjoying posting these more often. Thank you for reading.
