Spring Favourites

Hello everyone and this post is all about my spring favourites. I love Spring mainly because of all the pastels and floral prints coming back on trend. Although it's still quite cold here in Britain, I still like to embrace the pastels and of course it means Summers getting closer!

I'll firstly start off with nail polishes. In the Spring I tend to go for for pastels and nudes. If i'm honest I have way too many to count because they are my favourite colours to wear on my nails. So here I am showing you my top three. I love the look of nudes on your nails as I think they look really minimalist, like your wearing nothing almost, the colour I have hear is Barry Gelly Nail Paint in 'Lychee'. The next colour I love to wear on my nails is simply white. It gives a clean finish to your nails and goes with just about anything, it is also bang on trend this Spring. Finally the last colour I have to show you just screams Spring to me and it's another Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in 'Rose Hip' it's a gorgeous pastel pink shade which has to be one of my all time favourite colours. If you didn't already notice I really like Barry M, a lot!

Moving onto lip products I tend to not wear an awful lot, as I prefer a fresh faced look when Spring comes around. But when I do I steer towards peaches and nude pinks, as they give a natural look. The first colour I have here is the Revlon Lip butter in 'Juicy Papaya' it is a sheer peachy orange shade that adds a nice amount of gloss to your lips without being to bright, so it's perfect if your not too keen on very a bright orange on your lips. My go to nude pink shade is Mac's 'Creme Cup' it's a 'your lips but better' shade and just adds a little something to any makeup look.

As for scents, I am a sweet scent kind of girl over musky or floral. My pick has to be the Hollister sprays in general as they last for ages and smell amazing. If I had to choose one it would be the scent 'Cresent Bay' as it's still sweet but not too overpowering. 

In the Spring I love have really highlighted inner corners. It really makes you look more awake and your eyes appear more rounded. For that I use the Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in 'Milk' it's a matte white shade and because it's in pencil form it is super easy to apply in the inner corner. The formula of these is also super creamy and is really easy to blend out for a subtle look.

My current favourite piece of jewellery is this stunning clear crystal necklace* from the lovely Ida Jewellery. It goes perfectly with any outfit I wear and completes it. It is amazing quality and it's not been from around my neck.

I'm turning into a 90's kid recently, I have collected a lot of Scrunchies over time and I love each one of them! I love the way they look in a simple pony tail or a half up half down look. They just spice up a boring hairstyle. I have a collection here from Junk Love*, Stitch By Lou* and New Look. 

Time for my fashion favourite: dresses. I have recently been loving dresses, I haven't got one in particular I have just been loving all of my dresses right now! Although I have been loving this tunic dress from Topshop especially. I love how they are so easy to style, you can just throw on a pair of shoes with them and your good to go!

The Manicure | Spring Clean

Our nails can get neglected from time to time and will need a bit of a pamper. If I don't tend to my nails frequently they tend to get very brittle and peel of easily. So this Spring you should get out the nail file and give abit of time to your nails.

When doing my nails I firstly take off any nail polish I had on previous. For that I use the Bourjous Dissolvant Miraculeux, which is so quick and easy. You just twist your finger in the pot, take it out and your nail polish has gone! It also contains almond oil so it's super moisturizing for your nails too.

If my nails are slightly long I will then trim them down and file down any uneven edges. I prefer my nails to be rounded off instead of squared.

I then like to move onto the exciting part: choosing the colour. I always take forever deciding over the colour of which to paint my nails. But seen as it's Spring I wanted to go for something pastel, and in the end settled for a pastel purple; this one is by Revlon in the shade 'Charming'. I will apply two coats of polish until it is fully opaque.

Then comes the annoying part: waiting for them to dry... It seems like forever if I'm honest. You have to sit there and do nothing just in case you smudge all of your hard work. But I still manage to smear the polish no matter how still I sit.

Once it's all dried, I will then finish everything off with a top coat to seal everything in and prevent the polish from chipping (which still manages to happen somehow?) I use this Rimmel top coat which gives a salon sheen to your nails and keeps them from chipping for a couple of days at least. 

Finally I will apply a cuticle cream to moisturize my cuticles to stop then cracking.

Hello everyone, today's post is another fashion post. As you may have already noticed from my previous fashion posts most of my clothes I wear are 75% black or white. So I thought I would show you an outfit I have been loving with a pop of pastel blue, perfect for the spring. The gorgeous pastel blue top I am wearing is from Topshop, it is made from chiffon and is really flowy. I paired it with a tight fitting jeans and yes they're black (I need to stop) but because the top is so loose fitting around the waist line, I thought that adding something fitted gives a flattering approach. Because in the UK it's not quite 20 degrees yet I through on this Brandy Melville flannel, which has neutral tones and also a hint of blue, so it complements the top well. To give it a more feminine feel I rolled the sleeves up. For shoes I added some brogue style ankle boots. As for jewellery I like to keep it minimalist, I put on my pearl rope Pandora and my silver Pandora with charms. I also put on my vintage voyager watch by the lovely Elsie Grace and a bracelet that I made myself.

This outfit is perfect for early spring days as it still keeps you warm. Its a casual pick and would be great for days out shopping ect. I think all the colours involved in the outfit work well together and compliment each other perfectly.

Hello everyone and today's post is based on a trend that has been seen all over the shops and catwalks this year:  striped monochrome. The pattern everyone seems to be going crazy for this S&S is stripes especially horizontal. Horizontal stripes make you appear slimmer and vertical make you appear taller. I can't walk into a shop and there not to be some sort of striped garment, but I'm not complaining I have recently been going crazy for it my self. The tunic I'm wearing is a straight down horizontal striped dress from Topshop, and it is a really versatile piece. To keep myself a little warmer, as here in Britain it is still like winter, I wore 80 denier tights. I have also paired the tunic with a leather jacket to add a bit of grunge to the outfit and my white high top converse to keep it under the monochrome/simplistic theme. To keep the outfit neutral toned I added my satchel I picked up from Primark, it was a bargain at just £9, I love it as it adds a vintage vibe to any outfit. I kept jewellery to a minimum however I did wear a simple silver flower ring and paired it with a dainty silver tree necklace from the lovely Black Sheep Boutique, also my gorgeous vintage voyager watch from the lovely Elsie Grace. This outfit is perfect for the transitioning weather into Spring and works well all year round and will never go out of style.

Plain White | Spring Edit

Hello everyone, with spring right around the corner I thought I would do a quick post based around it. This post is going to be based on a clean simple look for your nails: white.

White nail polish is a step up from plain nudes and is in. All nude nail polishes are in this spring and summer, including white. They have been seen all over S/S catwalks recently, because of their opportunities with styling. White nail polishes give a clean sleek finish too an outfit without being overly boring. Some particular nude shades don't suit my skin tone as I am so pale, but white nail polish is perfect for any skin tone, but they do look especially great in the summer with a tan.

You don't have too spend a fortune on the perfect shade either, my shade I use is '365' from Barry M and it's just a clean sharp white, and was only £2.99 from Boots. I love the application and after two coats the shade was opaque. The great thing about white nails is that they go with any outfit and are perfect for any season, like black too.

Although it may not look like it, because the weather is freeeezing right now where I live, It's almost Spring wahey! In order for me not to freeze to death with this outfit, with my Levi Cut Off's I wore black opaque tights and on top of them I layered some cable knit over the knee socks. I personally love the way this looks. I tucked in the boyfriend style top into my Levi's as it gives a more feminine feel to the outfit and adds more shape to the look. I love to accessorize, and I chose a stunning statement ring from Little Pretties, my Pandora Ring and a vintage silver ring. I prefer to wear silver rings as I love the way it looks compared to gold rings. As for necklaces I wore this Clock Rope necklace from Velvet Rose UK, which I love and it gives a rustic feel to the overall look. If this outfit is too cold for you to wear right now I recommend pairing it with a parka and tartan scarf to mix up the patterns in your outfit, with the clashing stripes and tartan would add personality to the outfit. 

I can't wait for the spring time to roll around and for it to start getting warmer. Then I can begin experimenting with pastel shades and skirts without tights! I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you would like to see more fashion posts because I certainly love writing them.
